Independent League Baseball Player Smashes His Own Windshield with Grand Slam

Minor League player hits grand slam, breaks his own windshield

That's going to be one expensive grand slam.

With the bases loaded, two outs and the Gateway Grizzlies down 3-0 in the second inning Sunday, Brandon Thomas stepped to the plate. "The only think I was thinking about was whether it would be fair or foul; I knew it was long enough".

The ball hit shattered the window of his 2008 Toyota Tundra that was parked in the parking lot.

That dream usually doesn't end with a broken windshield, but it did for Brandon Thomas. He smashed a windshield in the parking lot! It turned out, it was his own truck.

Thomas' team won 17-6, but he might have to call up Safelite to fix his auto after hitting a grand slam.

But that's probably not going to happen because, as Thomas concluded, "I've got a $1,000 deductible".

Either he has really good insurance, or the team offered to pay for the damage.
