The Redditor, known as pokemongodev, used burner SIM cards to launch thousands of simultaneous scans of the Pokemon GO servers, with all the scans tied to a specific IP address. Because mobile phones were used, these scans all came from a single IP address - the one used by the cell phone company Proximus. The question is: what is Niantic planning for us? Be careful what you choose though as, according to BGR, this Pokemon GO cheat only works once.
This isn't the first time that an entire nation has been prevented from playing the game by cheaters - the launch in Brazil and Latin America was curtailed by the presence of bots and third-party apps - and it shows the enormous size of the issue Niantic is attempting to deal with. What improvements could Niantic do to keep its users?
The Redditor who was allegedly behind the ban later claimed that he didn't actually complete the test and that Niantic pre-emptively banned the entire country of Belgium after reading his posts. I easily hatched a 10K egg by driving around my neighborhood for about 10 minutes. As a matter of fact, Pokemon GO Hub has already confirmed the report and countless fans have rejoiced! However, in Brazil's case, the issue was resolved a few hours later.
"Pokemon Go" players, nevertheless, still have to incubate the eggs properly and perform the necessary footwork needed to hatch the egg.
Niantic hasn't taken action yet, but they probably will soon, as they've just now started to take a stronger stance against botting.
However, this doesn't mean the developer will be any more lenient toward Pokemon GO cheater or tracking sites. Why a change has to be made there is not clear. Like other bots, it catches Pokemon for you, but unlike others, it also visits PokeStops and collects the items you need to progress in the game too.
Pokemon GO is available now on Android and iOS devices.
