Stephen Colbert says everything you wish you could say to Ryan Lochte

Colbert has every reason to poke fun at this ridiculous controversy, but it's more than a joke for Lochte.

Stephen Colbert took over as host, executive producer and writer of THE LATE SHOW on September 8, 2015.

Anyways, Colbert asks "Lochte" the tough questions in this "totally legit interview" about the fake robbery. In the Matt Lauer interview this was the only aspect that seemed to really get an emotional response from Lochte, and now it came to fruition. His latest "Late Show" triumph shows him interrogating Ryan Lochte about his drunken Rio incident. He says he exaggerated the details.

Numerous video-spliced answers to Colbert's questions ended with the rehashed Lochte response "I was intoxicated".

A confused Colbert says to the swimmer at that point: 'Okay, here's the thing - "that part" is really the whole part. Without a gun cocked to your forehead, it's really just a story about some guys urinating on a gas station. "How could you get that so wrong?"

Lochte then tells Colbert he was 'intoxicated'.

"Now the whole world thinks of Ryan Lochte is that insane American with the weird hair who keeps making stuff up and causing an worldwide incident, which is not how an Olympian acts", said the host. To date, the swimmer has lost four major sponsorships: Speedo, Ralph Lauren, Airweave and Syneron-Candela.
