A NY zookeeper scolded animal rights "extremists" on Thursday after live video of a giraffe birth was temporarily removed from YouTube over complaints of nudity and sexually explicit content. Users can flag a video if they think it's inappropriate.
April, a 15-year-old giraffe at the Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville, New York is expecting her fourth calf - and the world is along for the ride. "We're all on the same team".
But the live stream was restored at 7 a.m. and April the giraffe was seen walking in her pen. "But until we can control the destruction of natural habitat and curb poaching, that is not going to happen", he continued.
"Instead of sitting behind a keyboard or holding a protest sign, I encourage the animal rights activists, get behind conservation", he said.
The park was displeased with this decision, and took to Facebook Live to defend the educational goal of the stream.
She is now 15 years old.
"Everything that matters and is important to that giraffe is provided to them in a stress-free manner", he said.
