Broncos will 'move on' from Trevor Siemian if they sign Tony Romo

CLEVELAND OH- OCTOBER 18 Quarterbacks Peyton Manning #18 of the Denver Broncos and Josh Mc Cown #13 of the Cleveland Browns talk after the game at First Energy Stadium

"I wanted to play better past year, you know with Russell [Okung] coming in and [Donald] Stephenson coming in I thought that we might have played a bit better on the offensive line than we did".

Romo, suffered a back injury during the preseason and then could only watch as rookie Dak Prescott led the Cowboys to a 13-3 record and a berth in the playoffs.

Joseph isn't allowed to talk specifically about players on other teams, but he reaffirmed the Broncos' intentions to stick with their young QBs, who count a combined $2 million against next year's $167 million cap.

Notes: Joseph said he senses an excitement and a hunger in his conversations with players since his hiring in January: "Nine wins previous year felt like a losing season in Denver", Joseph said.

Denver GM John Elways was asked about the possibility of adding a veteran quarterback to the roster, and he said they're "open to anything".

"That expression, 'What's best for the Dallas Cowboys, ' is the guidepost for every decision we make", Garrett said.

One thing is for sure, as history has shown us, winning a Super Bowl is a tough feat to accomplish.

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported that the Broncos seem to have the inside track if the Cowboys release Romo and he becomes an unrestricted free agent.

The Giants certainly could use a veteran running back to help balance the workload with second-year player Paul Perkins.

"It's going fine, it's moving ahead", Elway said Wednesday at the scouting combine.

Broncos coach Vance Joseph said that he has spoken with Ware "four or five" times in recent weeks. Are they still going to continue to get better or is that going to impede their growth? Expect the veteran quarterback to be released next Thursday at the start of the new league year.

Improving on offense starts up front, where Elway and the Broncos have lots of decisions to make as the unit has now struggled in consecutive seasons.

Furthermore, this is the same guy who brought an aging Peyton Manning coming off multiple neck surgeries to the Rockies back in 2012 and got the brass ring because of it.

If the Broncos look to free agency, possibilities include Cincinnati's Andrew Whitworth, Green Bay's T.J. Lang and Baltimore's Ricky Wagner.
