Gboard For Android New Features Include GIF And Emoji Suggestions

Google's Gboard will now translate text into another language as you type

And finally, tapping on the "G" icon in the suggestion strip will offer access to new search features, including web, GIF and emoji. However, that is not enough for the company and it was to delve even deeper into your smartphones that it launched Gboard.

Some languages will likely work better than others here, thanks to a big update Google Translate recently received which brought Google Neural Machine Translation system (GNMT) to more languages across the Translate platform.

Gboard is getting the new update with some new interesting features. You can also share GIFs in supported apps, including Allo, Facebook Messenger, Hangouts, and Snapchat, Google notes. Google plans to add more themes in the future.

Of course, it wouldn't be Gboard if we weren't treated to a suite of easy-to-access emoji and GIFs to spruce up what would normally be a plain-text message. Instead of leaving your messaging app to translate a word or phrase, now you can translate your text right in the Gboard app. You'll get access to emoji and GIF suggestions while you type, improved voice typing, more keyboard themes, as well as access to Google Translate.

A bit further down the feature list, but still important, is the addition of new themes to customize Gboard and a smoother interface transition from voice to touch typing. From there, you can choose the translation you'd like, then start typing and send!

The new update is rolling out in the Google Play Store right now.

A major newbie for Gboard is Google Translate integration. Android device users no longer have to use the separate Google Translate app to text or email each other in languages other than their own.
