Orisa comes to Overwatch next week

A quadrupedal omnic is joining the Overwatch roster

Blizzard has announced that Overwatch's 24th playable hero, Tank-class android Orisa, will be introduced to the hit online shooter next Tuesday, 21 March. Blizzard shared the news alongside a new behind-the-scenes video discussing the creation of Orisa, who is created to serve as an "anchor" Tank-class character.

Game director Jeff Kaplan recently explained why Orisa has had so much play-time on the private test servers, telling fans: "we're leaving Orisa on the PTR for a little while". Numbani is one of the more technically advanced nations in the world of Overwatch, while still sporting a traditional palette of earth colors and tones - those yellows, browns, and greens. But, she has four legs. Orisa is also based on the quadro-ped designs of other androids in the Overwatch universe.

Check out the Overwatch Orisa video below. That's how we got the lovable and awkward bot we see today.

Orisa's main weapon is her rapid-fire Fusion Driver, an automatic gun with good range and accuracy even at a distance-though it comes at a cost, as Orisa's movement slows down while she fires.

Fortify: Orisa temporarily reduces damage she takes, and can not be affected by action-impairing effects.

"Orisa deploys a device to increase damage inflicted by allies within her line of sight".
