SUV crash ignites fireball at Seattle gas station

The black SUV hits the pump at a high rate of speed- thankfully no one was standing near

The Uber driver, who was transporting a 40-year-old woman, was driving his Nissan X-Terra northbound on Holman when he allegedly struck another vehicle, a Honda Civic.

The P-I reported that the Honda went sideways into a tree that cut his auto in half, and that the victim was trapped in the vehicle.

The vehicle was launched into the air when it hit the roadside, propelling it into a parking lot and then into the Shell service station, where the CCTV footage of the incident begins.

The impact caused the gas pump to burst into flames and a massive fireball ensued.

Attendants were on Tuesday picking up the pieces after a series of dramatic events that ended at a gas station in north Seattle. The SUV driver tried to brake and lost control-possibly after getting a flat tire.

The 35-year-old driver of the Accord was the most seriously hurt in the freakish incident.

Investigators say the SUV crashed into a auto earlier, pushing it off the road and into a tree.

There was one passenger of the SUV, a 40-year-old woman.

The rideshare driver was uninjured and his passenger was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The Uber driver was taken to a nearby hospital where investigators took a blood sample after obtaining a warrant, according to the report. The accident is under investigation by Seattle police.
