Conte: Hazard Is Very Happy And Settled At Chelsea
Apr 01 2017
The Belgian missed both of his country's matches in the current global break, but has remained in the news as the 26-year-old has been linked with a big money move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
The 26-year-old has thrived under his management, scoring 11 League goals and is a candidate for Player of the Year.
"I'm very happy. It means I'm doing a great job".
"Also if this club can call (itself) Real Madrid. We must pay great attention as in the last three games they won and in the last few games they are sixth (on form)". Don't forget that there are ten games to play and we hope to finish the season with great success for us, for the club and for the fans.
Ahead of the game, Antonio Conte has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he's given reporters a team news and injury update. "This league is really top in all aspects".
Conte was dismissive that Hazard might be angling for more money as the rumours circulate around his star man and he thinks his players can see that Chelsea is the right place to be.
"This (rumours about Real) is part of the game, to create difficulty in the mind of the player".
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich knows Antonio Conte's future is tied to Eden Hazard. He is happy with us.
But Conte stressed contracts and transfers would be addressed at the end of the season and his players should focus on maintaining the team's 10-point lead at the top of the table.
"The champions elect have only ever lost at the Bridge once against Crystal Palace in top-flight football".
Chelsea have dominated this fixture in the Premier League era, winning 12 and losing just two of their last 18 league meetings with Crystal Palace. The Blues also play Tottenham in the FA Cup semi-final. There were games where Chelsea didn't play well, they struggled, they had nearly no chances, but somehow they managed to do what others, especially Liverpool and Manchester City, weren't able to - they picked up points in those games and they deserve to enjoy top of the table. I can say this.
"You see a team with great players in that position, it can happen". We've got to be better than we've been in the last three, ' the former England manager added. Wards "Big Sam" unexpectedly won three games in a row.
This period after the last worldwide break of the season marks the home straight, for Chelsea it looks like it is one destined for them to be crowned champions. This club has great ambitions. "I'm very happy to be coach of this club".
Chelsea captain John Terry, who has not made a Premier League start since September, is out of contract this summer.
Despite the speculation and his reduced role at the club, Conte has insisted Terry remains an important figure at the club, and that has been reflected in the offer of a new one-year deal.
