Marvel Announces Director Duo For Upcoming 'Captain Marvel'

"How can we come to understand the mystique of being female?"
Little is known about the plot of Captain Marvel at this point, but Larson was confirmed to be playing the Carol Danvers version of the character from the Marvel Comics universe (rather than the other iterations of the character that have been introduced over the years). To the envy of every Marvel fan around the globe, the press was given a tour of Marvel Studios' headquarters.
"With Captain Marvel, she is as powerful a character as we've ever put in a movie", Feige said.
The outlet previously reported that the studio's shortlist of contenders for the Captain Marvel director's chair included Whale Rider director Niki Caro, as well as The Walking Dead and Homeland television series director Lesli Linka Glatter, and The Meddler and Seeking A Friend For the End of the World director Lorene Scafaria.
Nerdist recently visited the offices of Marvel Studios and during their visit, they spotted concept art of Larson as Carol. Like a form-fitting armor, her suit is less spandex and more military grade, covering her whole body. There were only three Captain Marvel images up on the wall, but they packed quite a punch. Though the design kept Captain Marvel's signature eight-pointed star emblem square on the chest, its look and feel were more akin to Ant Man's suit than Iron Man's. Her iconic sash is more of a utility belt, favoring function over form.
The third image showed her fighting off a something in a giant metal suit with a helmet; the creature looked nearly like the Kree sentries. With Meg LeFauve and Nicole Perlman on scripting duties, the big-budget tentpole "follows Carol Danvers, an Air Force pilot whose DNA is fused with that of an alien during an accident". Subsequently, she gains powers such as flight, enhanced strength, damage resistance and the ability to absorb and re-channel energy. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until 2019.
