Prey demo lets you play the first hour of the game
Apr 13 2017
Outside of the demo, there is an incentive for anyone looking to pre-order this game before the May 5, 2017 launch date. The demo will give players the chance to explore the opening for the game, which holds a really big secret if you've been avoiding the bombardment of trailers since Bethesda's reveal at e3 previous year.
Be prepared, as the game describes, "to have a very bad day". What began as a normal first day of work, soon will take a dark turn.
The demo will only be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gamers, with PC being left out in the cold. The official press release says that players will be put, "in the role of Morgan Yu, lead scientist aboard Talos I, working on a scientific breakthrough meant to alter humanity forever". You'll find yourself alone on board the Talos, a magnificent interstellar research facility, now abandoned.
To accompany today's announcement, Bethesda released a short new trailer (embedded below), splicing together narrative and gameplay elements for a video that shows off some of Morgan's abilities and provides a glimpse at how the tools at the character's disposal can be used for puzzle-solving as well as combat. Will you hold off because you don't want to play Prey's first hour a second time? Aliens have overrun the station and are hunting down any surviving crew members, including you. The goal is simple - thwart the alien invasion and save all of humanity.
However, the description of the demo only included the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions.
