'Baahubali 2' collects over Rs 400 crore in opening weekend

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted: "The wave is unstoppable". Baahubali 2 even got listed on number 3 in the US Box Office ranking behind Vin Diesel's The Fate of the Furious and Salma Hayek's latin super hit with its opening weekend take.

Earlier, Catch had reported that the Hindi dubbed version of SS Rajamouli film has minted Rs. 41 crore on it opening day to become the highest opener in Indian cinema. "The film is destined to make history and it is going to break every single record-opening day, weekend, first week and so on", he said.

The nation was gripped with Baahubali fever, and with the release of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, the wait is finally over.

"Sources from within the industry say that the film could have raked in over Rs 30 crore in the state". Two parts of the film was made with a budget of Rs 430 Cr (approximately) while the movie has stood as a biggest grosser at BO collections. PK now tops the list of India's highest grossing films. Released in about 6,000 screens nationwide, Baahubali 2 had tickets being sold at exorbitantly high rates across the country, with theatres booked for most of next week.

The collections of "Baahuabli 2" have been steadily increasing in all the four days that have concluded so far. S.S. Rajamouli returned to direct the movie starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati and Anushka Shetty. The film is produced under the company of Arka Media Works. The movie is doing good business in all the languages, both in India and overseas.

The first installment of Baahubali (which means "the one with strong arms") earned a muscular $100 million worldwide, including $77 million in India.

According to the report published in DNA, as per the agreement made between the filmmakers and the director SS Rajamouli, he will be taking home one-third of the profits.

Baahubali 2 is nearing Rs 700 crore marks so it is on its way to beat the Aamir Khan starrer PK's lifetime earnings of Rs 792 crore.
