The BCCI has chose to invite more applications for the post of Indian team's coach to give the CAC a wide range of options for picking the suitable candidate who will be appointed before the tour of Sri Lanka next month.

Khanna on Wednesday said that the new coach for the Indian cricket team, whose tenure will be fixed at least till 2019 World Cup, will be announced before the Sri Lankan tour. The Indian team will be without a coach in the tour to the West Indies, where they play five ODIs and one-off T20 match starting at Port of Spain later today. His point of view is out there and we respect that. We have created a culture over the last 3-4 years that whatever happens in the change room, we have tried to maintain the sanctity of the change room throughout.
According to India Express, A BCCI spokesperson revealed that CAC will not consult the team or captain while selecting the next coach.
