No. 1 Overall Pick Myles Garrett Is Already Injured, Because Browns

Floyd Mayweather speaks to media after the press conference

Myles Garrett has been diagnosed with a foot sprain, but the good news is he should be ready for camp.

The Browns drafted Garrett to bolster a defense that finished a mere joint-30th in the league with 26 sacks during a 1-15 effort in 2016. He underwent testing and was wearing a walking boot, and now he has been diagnosed with the sprain.

Browns rookie tight end David Njoku told the Plain Dealer that Garrett is in high spirits and "he's a happy camper".

Unfortunately for the former Texas A&M star, he's had a string of frustrating injuries.

While we are not too sure about the extent of the injury, it is on the same leg that Garrett suffered a high-ankle sprain with Texas A&M last season. So you know it sucks, but it's part of the game.

Fellow rookie defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi has grown close to Garrett and hated to see him get hurt.

Garrett injured his foot during 11-on-11 drills on Wednesday.

However, Garrett was said to be "fine". That's the nature of the game. "It's part of the process and you know he's going to bounce back". He's still smiling, he's still feeling good. "It's still way early, but you guys are going to see a pretty good football player when he gets a chance to get out there and go. One day at a time", he said. The signing bonus is estimated at just over $5 million, and there is a fifth-year option on the deal as well.

Garrett, who also missed time during OTAs with an undisclosed injury, is expected to help transform a defense that ranked as one of the NFL's worst previous year after totaling 32 1/2 sacks for the Aggies over 3 seasons combined. "I have a big smile on my face, and I will just wait and let him show everybody before I talk about it".
