Chelsea Set To Slap In Offer For Real Madrid Striker

Lukaku was widely reported to make a return to Stamford Bridge, but Manchester United have hijacked the deal from the Blues as the striker has accepted to play for the Red Devils.

It never happened. Real needed the cash to fund the purchase of Paul Pogba but the 25-year-old midfielder opted to move to Old Trafford for a world record fee.

As SunSport exclusively revealed in January, the Real Madrid ace is Antonio Conte's ideal striker.

Chelsea are prepared to slap in a bid with Real Madrid for the signature of striker Alvaro Morata this summer.

Chelsea are preparing an offer of €80m for Alvaro Morata although Real Madrid are holding out for €90m, say reports in Spain. The Italian in charge at Stamford Bridge, Antonio Conte, has not hidden his admiration over Morata and although the asking price is no different than that made clear to United, the working relationships between the two clubs is much more fluid.

United announced the signing of the Belgium worldwide today in a £75m deal.

For his part, Morata would have no problem agreeing a deal at Chelsea.

Conte knows the player well as he played a key role in Morata's move to Juve in 2014 and it appears the pair could now be reunited in west London this summer if Chelsea can agree a deal.

Morata scored 20 goals in 43 appearances for Madrid last season but the 24-year-old striker is desperate for a move away from the Bernabeu in search of more regular game-time.
