Reuters/Henry BrowneMexican Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Kazakhstani Gennady Golovkin faced each other during the press conference of the September 16 bout that will be conducted at Nevada's T-Mobile Arena.
"It's the only way the victor of the Golovkin-Canelo fight can unify the titles, and that's the logical fight", Warren said, via BBC. The 27-year-old Mexican has beaten the likes of Miguel Cotto, Amir Khan and Shane Mosley. "I am ready to reign at the top of the middleweight division for a long time". The only disappointment in his display was that he didn't find a way to finish a spiritless Chavez off early.
Alvarez's last four bouts have all been PPV headliners. Then again, Alvarez has claimed he is not afraid of his illustrious opponent.
"I believe this is my first step to history", Golovkin said.
How can I watch Canelo vs GGG on TV?
It's got to be him.
A knockout artist with counterpunching prowess, Alvarez incorporates body shots and left hooks to pummel his opposition in close exchanges inside the pocket. A few expertly timed power punches and it's possible that Alvarez puts Golovkin on the back foot, perhaps even sending him to the canvas.
The 28-year-old is "Superb" as his alias suggests but he blows up in weight between fights and doesn't stay active enough in his career.
