Two coaches of Ranchi Rajdhani Express derail in Delhi

Also, Shaktipunj Express derailed near Sonbhadra in Uttar Pradesh today in the morning.

A number of senior railway officials reached the spot with rescue teams to clear the track, which is the main line to connect Delhi with the trains coming from the eastern part of India. According to Northern Railway spokesperson Neeraj Sharma, the derailment of the Rajdhani Express that was approaching national capital took place at 11.45 am today.

Even as the authorities and the passengers dealt with the aftermath of these two derailments, another news came, again from UP, that a fracture in the track was detected between Farrukhabad and Fatehgarh, minutes before the Kalindi Express was scheduled to pass.

As per Republic TV, a train derailment was averted in UP today after a man noticed broken tracks and alerted drivers of Kalindi Express by placing a red cloth. The railway officials told us that the engine and a bogey have been derailed. "No injury to any passenger", said CRPO.

However, there have been no reports of injuries.

All passengers were accommodated in the remaining coaches and the train left within an hour, officials said.

This is the third derailment of the day.

Days after the mishap, at least 100 people were injured after several compartments of the Delhi-bound Kaifiyat Kexpress derailed in Auraiya district of Uttar Pradesh.

On August 19, 22 people had been killed and over 150 injured when 13 coaches of the Kalinga-Utkal Express derailed near Muzaffarnagar in UP.
