Samsung Galaxy X foldable phone to take iPhone X head-on

Rumored Samsung Galaxy X foldable phone spotted again

Samsung is about to introduce a new trend in smartphones - if rumors are to be believed, of course. After the Galaxy S8 presented in the spring and the Galaxy Note 8 launched in the summer, several clues would confirm the existence of a Galaxy X. This is the now famous smartphone folding of the giant south Korean.

Foldable phone from Samsung has been long rumored and it seems there is one in the horizon this time, one that could challenge the recent Apple iPhone X.

The Samsung Galaxy X will be a top of the line offering from Samsung, costing significantly higher than the current flagship phones that the company makes.

According to the latest news a secretive Samsung smartphone known as model number SM-G888N0, has been certified by Bluetooth SIG, a certification body for Bluetooth devices. SamMobile had reported a year ago that the Galaxy X display would have a "diamond PenTile subpixel arrangement".

If you were hoping for a price drop on Samsung devices, you are in luck, as on Monday the company announced that it is organising the Samsung Shop Anniversary Sale from September 25-30. Details regarding the foldable Samsung Galaxy X will probably start pouring soon. In any case in South Korea since, for the moment, no certification has been given in the United States or in Europe.

The company was already granted a patent for flexible OLED display, as well as, for a fold-out smartphone design. The device had made an appearance for Bluetooth certification.

Samsung Galaxy S5 mini is now on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and has received the update with built number G800FXXU1CQH3; it is a security patch update as well.

We now know that this hasn't happened, and Bloomberg is reporting that a foldable smartphone will debut under the Note brand in 2018.

Forbes points out that Samsung has been playing around with bending displays since it launched the Galaxy Note Edge, followed by the Galaxy S6 Edge. Also, we can expect that the launch of the Samsung Galaxy X will take place at the annual Mobile World Congress next year. "When we can overcome some problems for sure, we will launch the product", Koh had said.
