Video released during New York Comic Con on Sunday provides the first look at the beloved sci-fi show's new 10-episode season that premieres in early 2018.

Of course, there's always a chance that Anderson will change her mind between now and when season 11 debuts in January.

[Press:] "So, why did you want to do this season?"

Gillian Anderson believes the next series of The X-Files will be her last.

Although it is exciting to see more of Walter Skinner next year, there is little doubt that the series belongs to Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.

Interestingly, Skinner has never shown up in any of Darin Morgan's episodes. All Carter would say was "Langley is in the show this season".

Throughout all the years of The X-Files' life cycle, the true constant of the show has been Mulder and Scully's relationship.

We confirmed that Glen Morgan, who is now working on an adaptation of the popular Lore podcast for Amazon, will write two episodes for The X-Files season 11. When asked why she returning at all, she replied: "It felt like it wasn't over, didn't feel we necessarily delivered everything the fans were expecting of us last time".

Produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Ten Thirteen Productions, The X-Files is created and executive-produced by Chris Carter. As the conspiracy winds down, our brief flirtation with an X-Files revival may come to an end.

Indeed, fans thought "The X-Files", which ended its original run in 2002, was dead and buried before Fox revived it for season 10 back in 2016. Here's what is being reported, and how fans of The X-Files may finally get those answers about William they've waited so long to hear.
