What will the Oakland Raiders do without Derek Carr?

Derrick Carr

The Raiders look for opportunities where opposing teams sleep on Cooper because of his poor numbers, isolate him one-on-one and break a big play or two to restore his confidence.

The Ravens will attack Oakland quarterback EJ Manuel, who was thrust into the starting role for the injured Derek Carr.

Carr must be making quick progress from his transverse process fracture in his back. The Raiders will have to change that in order to be successful and may look to safety Karl Joseph to do it, as he's had good success blitzing off the edge this season.

Like with most everything in sports, numbers have come to define the Raiders. "But when it is tough on everybody else, it is just right for us".

When do things get serious regarding the postseason after just a quarter of the schedule?

It would also help if the Raiders can get the running game going.

"We've got "Beast Mode" this week". We saw it last Sunday. Winston finished the game with 334 yards, completing 26 throws from 46 attempts. Baltimore has lost two straight as well falling to the Jacksonville Jaguars and Pittsburgh Steelers giving up a combined 70 points.

Terrance West left Sunday's Week 5 game against the Raiders with a calf injury and is doubtful to return. Although he is in line to be a game-time call, expect the Oakland signal caller to ultimately be ruled out.

Flacco, who missed all of training camp with a back injury, is off to one of the worst starts of his career and has been the target of heavy criticism from fans and media. If that isn't troublesome enough remember it's still less then the 16 points the Ravens have scored in their back to back losses.

While Carr was listed as questionable, it was nearly certain that he was not going to play.

It's all a blur with these things.

Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio is psyched about that development, noting that "it's a little embarrassing" to play on dirt.

It was probably the latter. He'll need help either from a tight end or chipping running back. "That's not the way we're going to win games around here".
