Who Is Marilou Danley, Stephen Paddock's Apparent Girlfriend?

Las Vegas shooting: Filipino Marilou Danley not a person of interest

A USA official familiar with the investigation said there was no evidence that Paddock had contacts with any extremist groups, or that he might have sought out militant groups online that could have incited him to carry out a mass shooting. Overall, 527 people were injured during the mass shooting.

Almost two days after the deadliest mass shooting in modern us history, what set off the 64-year-old high-rolling gambler and retired accountant remained a big question mark Tuesday. Investigators probing the Las Vegas massacre have searched gunman Stephen Paddock's home and recovered 42 firearms, an assortment of explosives and several thousand rounds of ammunition from his Las Vegas hotel room and his Mesquite home.

In the shooting, which has been labeled the most deadly mass shooting in USA history, 59 people were killed with another 515 being injured. Lombard said his client was cooperating fully with authorities.

A nephew of Stephen Paddock's girlfriend says he's stunned by the actions of the Las Vegas gunman and didn't even know that Paddock was interested in guns. "People were standing around, then they hit the floor".

Immigration documents show Marilou Danley had been overseas for weeks and was in the Philippines on Sunday when Paddock opened fire on a crowd, killing 59.

Suarez said the NBI was looking into reports Danley arrived in the Philippines last month, and that Paddock had sent $100,000 to her via a wire transfer.

Las Vegas Sheriff Joe Lombardo, speaking at a Wednesday night news conference, said he remains unconvinced.

The sisters, who spoke to Channel Seven on Wednesday evening on the condition of anonymity, said Paddock bought her a ticket to the Philippines two weeks ago and told her to go on a holiday in what they believe was an attempt to spare her from his plans.

Law enforcement officials do not believe that Danley was involved in the shooting "at this time".

She boarded a flight from Manila to Los Angeles on Tuesday, according to Antonette Mangrobang, a spokeswoman for the Philippine Immigration Bureau.

Paddock's brother said he was "not an avid gun guy" and claimed he had become a multi-millionaire through real estate investments.

Marilou Danley is being sought for questioning re the investigation into the active shooter incident.

Authorities said Paddock, who had no criminal record, smashed windows in his hotel room shortly after 10pm on Sunday and rained fire on a crowd of 22,000 attending a country music concert below. Paddock killed himself before police reached his hotel room.

While she was there, Paddock wired her money so she could buy a house for herself and her family, Danley said in her statement.

"She's a good person, a gentle soul, a mother, a grandmother, a sister, a friend", the sister said, adding that Danley was having trouble coping with the tragedy because "she's a very weak person".
