Goodwin Lost Infant Daughter Hours Before 49ers Win

San Francisco 49ers Jimmy Garoppolo walks on the field following the 49ers 20-10 loss against the Arizona Cardinals for their NFL game at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara Calif. on Sunday Nov. 5 2017

In a note to his followers on Instagram, Goodwin announced that the couple lost their unborn baby "due to complications" and had to prematurely deliver him earlier that morning.

Goodwin continued, "Although we are hurt, I am grateful for the experience and grateful that God blessed me with a wife as courageous and resilient as Morgan". After that long pass, Goodwin fell to his knees in prayer as his teammates gathered around him.

Goodwin scored a touchdown for the 49rs just hours later, blowing a kiss to the sky before collapsing in the end zone.

There was every reason 49ers wide receiver Marquise Goodwin should have been rejoicing in the San Francisco lockerroom after Sunday's win.

Despite the heartbreaking loss, Goodwin took the field Sunday afternoon and helped his team beat the New York Giants.

Goodwin left the team's locker room quickly after the game to return to his family, NBC Sports reported. "He had a wonderful game today".

In her Instagram post, Goodwin-Snow remained positive and thanked people for the support they offered throughout her pregnancy.

Thanking those who had reached out to the family, Goodwin-Snow said her pregnancy had been "an incredible experience and it was also a tragic experience". In September, the fifth-year National Football League veteran shared a photo of him and his wife kissing while holding an ultrasound image.

This wasn't the only big play Goodwin had in the game, as he also produced a big block on tight end Garrett Celek's 47-yard touchdown.
