Isco: Bale having a hard time after latest injury setback

Gareth Bale

REAL MADRID superstar Gareth Bale is facing a fresh blow after suffering yet another hamstring injury.

Madrid's next match is a tough visit to crosstown rival Atletico Madrid on November 18 after the global break.

Real are eight points behind La Liga rivals Barcelona but Zidane is hopeful the possibility of having Bale, Benzema and Ronaldo available after the global break can aid their bid to retain the Spanish title.

Bale's latest injury is a strain to his adductor muscle, as confirmed in the medical report shared by Real Madrid. In four full seasons, he has lifted the Champions League three times and scored 70 goals.

In his absence over the past year, home favourites Isco and Marco Asensio have starred and it would cause serious disquiet in the stands and the dressing room at the Bernabeu if they were to be squeezed out to make room for Bale when fit.

Bale has been restricted to nine appearances in all competitions for Madrid this season and last featured at Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League at the end of September - limping out of the action during the closing stages after opening the scoring in a 3-1 win. There was once a time when the trio of Bale, Karim Benzema, and Cristiano Ronaldo were thought of as the most potent trio in world football.

"My Madrid past wouldn't have been an issue as I'm not a Madrid fan and I always point that out whenever I'm asked about it", the former Real Madrid player said.
