In its sling of first announcements today, Blizzard has announced a new hero is coming to Overwatch.

The Super ability of the new Overwatch character is apparently a move called Coalescence, where Moira channels her energy into a big beam that heals her allies, but can also bypass her enemy's barriers in order to damage them.

In accordance with BlizzCon, Blizzard updated its official site with more information on the upcoming Overwatch hero. You can get a sampling of Moira's abilities in the trailer above, though we don't know when we'll be able to play her outside of Blizzcon yet. She looks like a bit of an all-rounder.

Last but not least, Blizzard also showed off a brand new 7-minute Overwatch animated short featuring the tank hero, Reinhardt.

Biotic Orb - Moira launches a rebounding biotic sphere; she can choose between a regeneration effect that heals the allies it passes through, or a decay effect that deals damage to enemies.

Revealed in all her glory at Blizzcon 2017, you can find footage of Moira's backstory and a selection of her ominous powers in action below.

The map is a hybrid map, meaning it's part assault and part payload like Numbani. Given that Overwatch only just introduced the Junkertown map, it makes sense that Blizzard will hold off on releasing this new map for now. The latest map will pay homage to numerous great titles under Blizzard's belt by creating an entire theme park dedicated to all things Blizzard.
