Next QB up: Broncos turn to Lynch against Raiders

Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick runs with the football after intercepting a pass during an NFL game against the Denver Broncos on Sunday Nov. 19 2017 in Denver

He completed 49 of 83 passes (59%) for 497 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.

Of the three quarterbacks, Lynch should benefit the most from the offense's simplification. But the loss could set the wheels in motion for Lynch, the Broncos' first-round pick in 2016. Denver benched Siemian after a three-game losing streak that followed a 3-1 start.

Lynch takes over for Brock Osweiler, who took over for Trevor Siemian.

The Broncos have not been out of contention in December since the 2010 season.

The Denver Broncos will be heading to the Oakland Coliseum to take on their very own Oakland Raiders this Sunday evening at 4:25 PM EST.

They did not get the outcome they wanted with Osweiler. "Just protect the football, have zero turnovers at the end of the game and see where we are".

Why did they wait so long to start Lynch?

The fact that Joseph declared Lynch "healthy" means any decision about Lynch now hinges on the second-year quarterback's readiness to handle the playbook in a regular-season game. For starters, Vance Joseph says the offensive scheme should be much simpler with Mike McCoy out and Bill Musgrave serving as the Broncos' interim offensive coordinator for the remainder of the season.

"I feel good", Lynch said of his shoulder on Monday. He's been heralded for his athleticism and physical tools but the young quarterback hasn't shown a strong feel for the game during his time in Denver.
