Following the similar trend, the development team behind the OnePlus 3 and 3T confirmed that they are now officially rolling out the 8.0 update for their smartphones.
As the OnePlus 5T is released worldwide, we've discussed the lifecycle of each OnePlus device - and the software updates therein. It also brings new smart text selection feature with new quick settings design.
Meanwhile, the launcher is receiving some upgrades too, including notification dots and a new app folder design. Luckily, OnePlus 3 and 3T owners need wait no longer, as the company has finally rolled out the latest operating system.
The OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T are getting an advantage of sorts over the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T, as Android 8.0 Oreo is making its way to the 2016 smartphones via OxygenOS 5.0. A broader rollout of Oreo update can be expected in a few days. And of course, it has an updated security patch for the November month. Also on the anvil is the Parallel Apps feature that will let users open several instances of an app. As Oreo is a relatively new update for the community, the team wanted to ensure it seamlessly worked with the hardware used in the new smartphone. Last month, the company released the Android 8.0 Oreo-based OxygenOS Open Beta for both these devices. There are people who have planned to upgrade their device, however this new Oreo update will make them feel like using an all new smartphone as it brings a whole new environment to your phone. Just go to the Settings menu and scroll down till the end, you could see About Phone option there.
