Reactions to the Eric Bledsoe trade

Eric Bledsoe

The Eric Bledsoe saga has officially come to a close in Phoenix.

The Suns and Bucks are finalizing a deal to send Bledsoe to Milwaukee in exchange for center Greg Monroe, a protected 2018 first-round pick and a 2018 second-round pick, according to ESPN.

"Eric is a dynamic player who brings scoring and toughness to the court while enhancing our young and talented core", Bucks general manager Jon Horst said in a statement.

Eric Bledsoe said he's "excited" to move forward with his National Basketball Association career after the blockbuster trade Tuesday sending him from the Phoenix Suns to the Milwaukee Bucks.

However, Bledsoe has missed large chunks of four seasons with injuries.

Bledsoe was fined $10,000 by the National Basketball Association for that tweet, McDonough told on Sunday.

Bledsoe, 27, averaged 21.3 points, 6.3 assists and 4.8 rebounds in 66 games last season before the being shut down for the remainder of the season. He spent the first five years of his career with the Detroit Pistons before heading to the Bucks.

Bledsoe averaged 15.7 points and 3.0 assists in only three games this season before the Suns sent him home following his infamous tweet.

The 6-11 Monroe has an expiring contract, which means even more room for a Suns team with loads off cap space. The picks, whether they convey in 2018, 2019 or beyond, will further the Suns' long-term development with added youth.

But he also served as an indicator of just how rapidly the league has changed, too, when he picked up his $17.8 million option for this season rather than take his chances in the open market. We're looking forward to getting started in Milwaukee.
