PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Will Debut New Desert Map Gameplay Next Week

Tencent is making two PUBG mobile games

Earlier we reported that PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds-the hottest game on PC right now-will run at a nice smooth 60FPS on the Xbox One X, whereas the older Xbox One and Xbox One S models would be geared more towards 30FPS.

Consoles have long struggled to hit the 60fps mark, but the Xbox One X is the game changer with native support for 4K, HDR, and 60fps. That said, Greene added that he has "great faith" he and his team will get to 60 FPS, though he also said frame rate is not as important in a game like PUBG, as opposed to a twitch shooter.

It will no doubt come as a disappointment to Xbox One X owners though, especially with the knowledge that their consoles are more than capable of running the game at double the framerate.

The next big step, besides the highly anticipated Xbox One release on December 12, is the desert map.

Talking through the official PlayerUnknown's BattleGrounds Twitter account, he states that PUBG will actually run at 30fps across all Xbox platforms.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds will launch for Xbox Game Preview on December 12th, and is now in early access on PC, with a planned release date of late December.

"Definitely on Xbox One X, 60 FPS, Green said". Xbox Game Preview is Microsoft's answer to Early Access.

Player Unknown's Battlegrounds himself appeared on the gamesTM issue 194, and he talked about the Xbox One version of Player Unknown's Battlegrounds. Greene said they were getting 30 to 40 FPS last time he checked. He says that is the reason they are doing game preview.

"We want to get those 4K textures in there, but we still have to make them".
