Selena Gomez Thinks No One Cares About Her Relationship With Justin Bieber

Selena Gomez gives tearful speech thanking friend who gave her a kidney

Selena Gomez gave an emotional acceptance speech on Thursday when she received the Billboard "Woman of the Year" award, saying her best friend, who gave her a kidney earlier this year, should be the rightful recipient of the praise.

"I've never felt this proud to be a woman in the industry than I do today, and that's because I actually feel comfortable with every single woman that has encouraged me", she continued, stressing how crucial it is that women's voices are finally being heard.

She explained, "I've cried".

"I want people to know that I respect the platform that I have so deeply because I knew that I wanted to be a part of something great, I wanted people to feel great", the singer added.

"I mean I don't think anybody truly, actually cares", Gomez told the magazine, according to a report by Hollywood Life on December 2.

Selena Gomez may be the most-followed person on Instagram, but that doesn't mean she feels the need to be present on the app all the time.

The "Bad Liar" singer said that she's altered and edited herself her whole life for the sake of others. "I honestly look forward to sharing with you, soon, my journey through these past several months as I have always wanted to do with you". It's a really attractive thing and I have to remind myself of that. "It was really hard in the beginning", she admitted. So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering. I love the people who have influenced my life.
