Two Christmas holiday parades to light up Gillette Avenue on Saturday

Electric light parades will entertain Texas Panhandle towns starting tonight in downtown Amarillo

If you missed the recent Winterfest parade, or you just want to see Santa Claus again, the 49th Annual Windsor Santa Claus Parade is this weekend. The tree-lighting ceremony starts at 4:30 p.m. on the town hall lawn.

The first parade of the season will take place Thursday night in downtown Courtland at 6 with Miss Alabama Jessica Proctor as grand marshal. There will be no parking along the parade route and on some adjacent side streets beginning at 2 p.m. on the day of the parade.

Bedford: Saturday, 11 a.m. - Returning for its second year, the parade will start at Knights of Columbus off Brambleton Avenue. A free Christmas concert will follow the parade at Hatton High School.

Hatton will hold a Christmas parade on Sunday at 3 p.m.

Marshville's Annual Christmas Tree Lighting is today starting at 6:30 at the Community Center (118 E. Union Street).

"The parade begins at 6 p.m. on Park Avenue and turns onto Main Street with activities continuing in the 700 block of Main Street", said Steve Bartels, Hereford assistant city manager.

In conjunction with the parade, Main Street will sponsor a window decorating contest for merchants and businesses.
