'Home and Away' Actress Jess Falkholt Passes Away

The 29-year-old has been fighting for life in St George Hospital since she was pulled from the wreckage, along with her sister Annabelle, 21, on December 26 near Ulladulla.

Annabelle was transported to Liverpool Hospital, where she died three days later.

Last night, the Daily Telegraph revealed Jessica's extended family had made a decision to switch off her life support in the hope that she could be woken from her coma.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported this morning that the hospital had confirmed the actress is still in a critical condition.

Jessica's parents, Lars, 69, and Vivian, 60, were killed instantly in the crash.

"Rest in peace, attractive Jessica Falkholt", it said.

Annabelle died as a result of her injuries last Tuesday.

Jessica (29) had remained in a coma, despite undergoing surgery several times.

Whitall was a habitual traffic offender with more than 60 convictions to his name, according to The Daily Telegraph.

Following Wednesday's funeral service, Vivian Falkholt's younger brother Pail Ponticello said: 'It's a day that will be hard to erase from our memory.

Vivian's younger brother, Paul Ponticello, spoke at the funeral service where he thanked people who ran to the family's aid.

Craig Anthony Whitall, 50, who was driving a four-wheel-drive crashed into the Falkholt's family vehicle. They are together and always will be.

"The ones who love us never really leave us, you can always find them in here (the heart)", Ms Macchetta told the service.

The remains of those killed in the crash were so badly burned, they had to be identified by their dental records, SBS reported.

Jessica Falkholt is best known for playing Hope Morrison on the long-running Australian soap, Home and Away.
