Jürgen Klopp will hold talks with Virgil van Dijk before the defender's potentially hostile return to Southampton in which he will tell Liverpool's record £75 million signing to be ready to showcase his temperament as well as his talent. They'll want to disturb everything that we will try to do to help their team.
The arrival of Van Dijk was never going to solve all of Liverpool's defensive problems, but manager Jurgen Klopp may be concerned at how vulnerable his side remain, despite the huge investment in the centre-back.
"It's obviously quite special, but it was not in goal", said Klopp of his five former Southampton players, and joked that his side would not be able to field a team if they left their former-Saints contingent out of the side.
Klopp said: 'We are all human beings, we are influenced by circumstances.
"Of course he is very important because he can play all three positions in our system and, in our system, I'm sure he could play as the No.8 too, like Gini [Wijnaldum], like Phil [Coutinho], like Emre [Can]".
"It shows the good work they do down there".
"It was a very public deal and the numbers, even when they are not 100 per cent right, are I think OK so maybe they are really happy and they say "Thank you for all the money we have now" - or it could be the other way around".
The Reds Under-23 side went on to lose the game 1-0 and they also ended the match with nine men after Liverpool youngster George Johnston also saw red for two bookable offences.
The sale of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona, and more pointedly, the lack of bringing a replacement to the club have left Liverpool in a similar situation.
Liverpool were unlucky not to grab a crucial win over "top four" rivals Tottenham Hotspur last week due to a late controversial penalty call which was converted by Harry Kane to finish it all square at Anfield.
Firmino is the focal point of Liverpool'sattack and is enjoying the most productive spell of his career on Merseyside, with 19 goals and 10 assists in all competitions so far this term.
