Marvel Superheroes Are Coming to Three Disney Theme Parks

Avengers and Other Super Heroes to Assemble at Disney Parks Worldwide

In California, Spider-Man and the Avengers will join Guardians of the Galaxy in a new immersive super hero universe. That park will be built at the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort locations.

Disney Parks announced Marvel-themed areas will come to three of its new parks.

"We are excited to take the next step by immersing our guests in this ever-expanding universe - and this is only the beginning!" said Bob Chapek, chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products, in a news release. The new area will be taking over the space now occupied by A Bug's Land, a short sliver of ground that features a few kid-friendly carnival rides themed to A Bug's Life.

The Guardians of the Galaxy crew will be joined by Spider-Man, the Avengers and other characters from Marvel films. That's the second park at Disneyland Resort, right across the esplanade from the original Disneyland. Today, they announced that they will soon have new experiences at Disneyland Resort, Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland. This summer Disneyland Paris is hosting the Marvel Summer of Super Heroes, a new live show featuring superheroes, special effects, and projections.

Hong Kong Disneyland's expansion will take also course over multiple years.

Disneyland Paris will include a reimagined attraction where riders team up with Iron Man and their favorite Avengers on a hyperkinetic adventure, also slated to open in 2020.

Disneyland Paris will host a Marvel Summer of Super Heroes event from June 10 to September 20, where "heroes will take the stage for a brand new, live-action super-production featuring cutting-edge special effects and spectacular projections", according to a press release.
