Mizzou fans are really, really excited about return of Michael Porter, Jr

Porter Jr.'prepared to play in SEC tournament Cuonzo Martin says

Martin said Porter would not start but will play as long as he can and won't be under any restrictions. Porter's ability to put the ball in the basket from anywhere helped create all the notoriety, and that's what made the news of his surgery so upsetting.

Missouri Tigers freshman forward Michael Porter Jr. will play during the team's SEC Tournament opening matchup on Thursday. "I feel good about it'".

At practice today in St. Louis where the tournament will be held, Porter showed of some serious consistency from beyond the 3-point line.

Porter injured his back in the first few minutes of the season-opener against Iowa State.

Missouri faces the victor of Wednesday night's Georgia-Vanderbilt game.

"If he's healthy, we're rolling", Martin added. It was until yesterday, that head coach Cuonzo Martin said Porter told him he would be ready to go. "Unless the trainer or Mike says otherwise, he's playing".

The No. 2 overall player in the 2017 recruiting class, Porter is considered to be a lock for the National Basketball Association lottery this year.

But in late February he was cleared by doctors to resume all basketball activities.

After finishing the regular season with a 20-11 record, Missouri is now projected as a No. 8 seed in the NCAA tournament by ESPN's Joe Lunardi.
