Oscars: Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway Reportedly Presenting Best Picture Again

Oscars 2017 Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty

After last year's epic Moonlight/La La Land flop, Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty are getting another chance to (correctly) announce the victor for Best Picture at tomorrow's Academy Awards.

It seems that they got it right this time when they handed the award to The Shape Of Water, but not without the movie's director Guillermo del Toro jokingly making a show out of checking the envelope and nodding at the camera first. "So, there was nearly a stigma that I felt". This was the best way for them to redeem themselves and it was nice to see that they could poke fun at themselves. "And we gotta move on and forgive, you know?"

He told the Hollywood Reporter: 'It's bittersweet because when that switch happened, I didn't enjoy it.

The mix-up was caused when the pair were handed a card which revealed Emma Stone had won Best Actress for her role in "La La Land", and Faye mistakenly read out the movie's title as the victor of Best Picture. Of course, this time around, the award was presented without a hitch - though she says Beatty briefly struggling with the envelope did give her a bit of pause!

"She recently said, "[Warren] took the card out and he didn't say anything.

A year ago it was a much different story as the Bonnie And Clyde actors were at the center of an envelope mishap involving Academy Awards agency PriceWaterhouseCoopers which counts the votes. "I opened the envelope and it said "Emma Stone, La La Land". What is happening?'" she recalls.

A lot of people thought the whole thing was a joke until it wasn't and twitter started screaming. "It's kind of hard to get those hard cards up there".
