Hear Taylor Swift Cover Earth, Wind & Fire's "September"

Taylor Swift – “September” (Earth, Wind & Fire Cover)

To many of her fans, this is a welcome reminder that Swift is still capable of releasing a hit album that isn't full of glitzy pop.

Swift doesn't tackle covers often-at least, not put down on record in the studio-so it stands to reason that just about anything she'd tackle would be news.

Taylor Swift might be all reputation all the time as she prepares for her stadium tour, but she managed to find a window to cover the Earth, Wind & Fire classic "September"... much to the internet's dismay.

"Delicate is a song about the vulnerability that immediately surfaces in all of us the minute we meet someone we want to like us". Every step forward toward that other person scares us, but it thrills us too. "Delicate" is about the balancing act of the rush and the fear and hoping it's really worth it to take that chance". We also included Earth, Wind & Fire's original track below to help restore your feel-good vibes.

That Taylor Swift - she always has a surprise up her fluttery sleeves.

Monique Judge, a columnist for the black culture magazine the Root, also said, "There are certain songs you don't mess with, especially if you don't have the range, and we all know Taylor Swift has all the range of a dial tone".

The Listening Room began as a music venue outside the Nashville city limits and emerged as "the Bluebird Cafe" in Franklin. Its complete performance schedule is available here.
