World Health Day 2018 Theme & Date Know All About the Campaign & Significance

For his part, WHO's director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus insisted that health is a fundamental human right.

Directorate of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) on Saturday celebrated the World Health Day 2018 across all the health institutions of valley. People were also apprised about the various health programmes and services being provided by the department.

This year's theme is "Universal Health Coverage: Everyone, Everywhere".

The theme of this year's World Health Day is "Universal health coverage: everyone, everywhere", and the slogan for the 2018 campaign is "Health for All".

World Health Day will shine a spotlight on the need for UHC - and the advantages it can bring.

What are the WHO's principles?

Alemu said: "All necessary preparations have already been done and am sure with the right resources put in place Nigeria will make progress in reaching UHC by 2030". The World Health Day focuses on ensuring that all can access essential health services. It said that people displaced within the borders of their own countries are often excluded from health services and have difficulties in accessing them due to social exclusion, financial constraints, as well as cultural and political barriers. With a financial assistance of Rs 682 crore, we have initiated an universal eye health programme.

"Health for all" has therefore been the organisation's guiding vision for more than seven decades.

Many countries have successfully eliminated measles, malaria and debilitating tropical diseases, as well as mother-to-child transmission of HIV and syphilis.

The First World Assembly was held by the WHO in 1948. So in the 70th anniversary year, WHO is calling on world leaders to live up to the pledges they made when they agreed the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in 2015, and commit to concrete steps to advance the health of all people.

It also launched a set of six stamps commemorative UN World Health Day stamps to promote worldwide awareness and action to achieve health for everyone around the world.
