Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp responds to Nabil Fekir and Ousmane Dembele rumours

West Bromwich Albion vs. Liverpool- Premier League

Despite a number of disappointing results in the Premier League in recent weeks Liverpool supporters have had plenty to shout about lately with a Champions League final to come.

Liverpool have agreed to sign highly-rated Lyon star Nabil Fekir this summer for a fee of €70m, according to RMC journalist Loic Tanzi.

"Liverpool are concretely positioned to [sign] Ousmane Dembele", the report boldly claims.

Klopp also responded jokingly to claims Liverpool were interested in Barcelona's Ousmane Dembele. I would be surprised about that, he said.

"But no comment. What was the second name?"

They report that Chelsea are "a step ahead" of Liverpool in the race to land Fekir, even though he has already tentatively agreed a five-year contract with the Reds, and could hijack the deal.

The France worldwide has been in quite simply sensational form for Lyon this season, racking up an impressive 22 goals and seven assists in 38 appearances in all competitions.

But Liverpool chiefs are said to be asking for a fee in excess of £176m (€200m) which Los Blancos may find it hard to pay this summer.

While many French football enthusiasts would argue otherwise, Nabil Fekir would be a top replacement for the Brazilian.

The 24-year-old Fekir has emerged as one of the world's most wanted superstars over the last two seasons and he has attracted attention from a host of big clubs already.

The Premier League side will shell out £62 million for the player and former manager Gerard Houllier is believed to have played a role in the negotiation process having become an adviser to Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas. "Now I am interested!" he said. If he comes, we would be very happy to have him with us.
