Battlefield 5 is getting Battle Royale

EA Shows off Battlefield V: Will Bring Battle Royale To WW II

Both heavy hitters of the first-person shooter world have officially been announced with Battle Royale modes.

Battlefield 5 will have a new Battle Royale mode to rival Call of Duty Black Ops 4's new Blackout mode.

As you might've expected, Battlefield V received an explosive new trailer during EA's E3 2018 press conference. There are scant details on what that means for us, but DICE developers may very well likely tell us more about what's coming tomorrow.

It was DICE's Oskar Gabrielson and Lars Gustavsson who made the announcement along with a brand new trailer for the game.

Due to the unprecedented success of games like Fortnite and PUBG, which have seemingly shifted the landscape of gaming in under a year, the battle royale game type is now being recognized as more than just a fad by the big publishers. According to NVIDIA, this gameplay footage was captured on a single GTX1080Ti and features the Narvik map.

It's unknown what form this new Battle Royale mode for Battlefield will take on, however. We know that characters culled from the Call of Duty franchise will be playable as well, along with weapons and equipment from past games. Battlefield V will not contain loot boxes nor will it have a premium pass.
