Heather Locklear arrested for battery on a police officer

Heather Locklear arrested for punching police officer and kicking EMT

On Sunday evening, authorities took Locklear into custody and charged her with battery on a police officer and emergency personnel.

Locklear, 56, was arrested late Sunday night and booked early Monday morning, according to the Ventura County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies were reportedly called to the Melrose Place alum's home after 11 p.m. PST by one of her family members.

She is being held on $20,000 bail.

In 911 dispatch audio obtained by the site, the family member described Locklear as erratic and said she was looking for a gun to shoot herself. According to our source, "Her family wants nothing more for her than to be checked into a facility until she finally truly is clean and sober".

It is unclear now how these new misdemeanors might impact Locklear's parole given her previous arrest for the same offense.

The actress was also detained on suspicion on driving under the influence in Santa Barbara in 2008, when her police mugshot went viral. She later plead not guilty to these four misdemeanor counts of battery in April, according to the Associated Press.

Locklear was booked on a count of battery on an officer, and emergency personnel.

Police said that they were able to diffuse the situation which involved Heisser complaining about Locklear's "erratic" behavior, and Locklear accusing her fiance of cheating. "So she could do 1 to 2 years in jail depending on the judge's ruling", California Criminal Defense Attorney Darren Kavinoky tells EXCLUSIVELY. I love her and her family, and I just hope that she can really dig in and turn her life around.

Locklear has openly struggled with depression, anxiety and substance abuse.
