San Antonio Spurs former Defensive Player of the Year Kawhi Leonard had reportedly met with coach Gregg Popovich, raising hopes that the problems between them and the team is nearing solution.

The first is that, is reports are correct, Leonard wants to play for the Los Angeles Lakers.

"Swapping Brown (and lots of other stuff) for Leonard would leave Boston with four players earning fat max contracts, including three - Horford, Irving and Leonard - who can negotiate fatter ones in 2019".

Trading for Leonard would present a challenge for Danny Ainge, especially if he intends to acquire him without including Kyrie Irving in a deal.

The team will have to trade picks and/or stash some drafted players overseas from this draft.

Now, according to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Lakers have reportedly acquired the 39 overall pick from the Philadelphia 76ers for a 2019 second round pick and cash considerations. Popovich told the big man that they wouldn't deal him, and the two sides eventually made it work.

It's nearly draft day Philadelphia 76ers fans, and don't look now, but your favorite team's already making moves. Whether or not the Spurs move that soon is unknown, but on one of the NBA's busiest nights of the year, how many calls will they take on their disgruntled star?

"LaMarcus has been a monster all year long".

The situation with Leonard isn't exactly the same, considering the bad blood that seems to have developed between Leonard and some members of the organization.

Instead of gutting their roster for George, the Lakers took a patient approach to the season, giving their young players an opportunity to log extended playing time and come back for George in the summer, when he could be signed without losing players or draft picks.
