International Yoga Day will soon be held throughout the world.
The International Yoga Day (IDY) which is celebrated on June 21 each year, is witnessing a series of celebrations which are being kicked off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with full zeal and enthusiasm. "Yoga is like music: the rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind, and the harmony of the soul to create the symphony of life", Iyengar had said. The enthusiasm of getting from "illness to wellness" is spreading from the busy streets of the South Korean capital, Seoul, to the foot of Eiffel Tower in Paris. "Yoga also helps in relief from stress due to the changing lifestyles", Naidu said.
People gathered at a sprawling forest research institute - snakes and monkeys were removed in advance - before dawn for the communal session involving the yoga-mad premier, an AFP reporter at the scene said.
He said in fact, yoga has become the biggest mass movement across the globe in the quest for good health and wellbeing, which is crucial to the creation of a peaceful world.
He also urged Indians to take pride in their heritage.
"Yoga has become one of the most powerful unifying forces in the world".
"In yoga, we have the ideal solution to the problems we face, either as individuals or in our society", the Prime Minister said.
He further appealed to those who are associated with yoga to "do it regularly and those who have not yet adopted yoga to give it a try". Yoga guru Ramdev conducted the yoga session attended by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, ministers, officers and local people at RAC ground in the presence of two officials from the Guinness World Records.
For the International Yoga Day (IDY) 2018, the AYUSH Ministry is all set to organise a tour for the overseas Yoga professionals to the "Yoga's birthplace" that is the southern state of Kerala.
Mr. Modi said yoga presents a ray of hope for future of the world.
