Malmo shooting Several people have been injured police have confirmed

Police cordon off an area after four people were shot and injured on an open street in central Malmo, in southern Sweden, on June 18, 2018.

Three of the six men who were injured in a drive-by shooting in the center of Sweden's third-largest city, have died, Swedish authorities said Tuesday.

Aftonbladet said the shootings took place next to a police station so officers were on the scene immediately. Investigators suggest that automatic weapons were used, and are searching for a dark vehicle that was seen leaving the scene at high speed, Aftonbladet reports.

No arrests had been made, and police said there were no signs the incident was related to terrorism.

The police refused to comment on the identity of the possible attacker or attackers.

Ssecurity at a hospital was stepped up after the gunfire was reported but police said that "there is no reason for the public to worry". Reports said they were searching for a dark-coloured auto.
