Brock Lesnar Challenges New UFC Heavyweight Champ Daniel Cormier

UFC 226 Results & Discussion Miocic vs Cormier Ngannou vs Lewis & More

"Cameras caught reigning Universal Champion Brock Lesnar cageside for the main event of UFC 226 between Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic and challenger Daniel Cormier", it began.

Cormier, who is also the current UFC light heavyweight champion, mentioned during his post-fight press conference a desire to fight again this year before concluding his career in 2019.

Coming into this fight, there was speculation that Lesnar might show up to UFC 226 to call out the victor of this main event fight and that is exactly what happened. Lesnar entered the Octagon and immediately shoved Cormier and the two almost came to blows.

Normally, Vince McMahon and WWE stay well away from any cross-promotion with rival brands, so it's very odd that they seem to be hyping up Lesnar's appearance at UFC. He is only the second UFC fighter to hold two belts at the same time. "Your day is in the past; 2010 is like the stone age".

"Maybe we're living in my world now, so I dictate the rules", Cormier said with a grin. "DC" got on the mic and told Lesnar, watching on as a spectator, to "get his ass" in the Octagon.

"He's back and I told you guys that we have talked before and that he's back".

After the fight, Cormier (who improved to 21-1) called out Lesnar and the big man was in the building. Cormier-Lesnar is not only an incredibly fun idea, it's a fight most promoters would sell their soul in order to make. The second victory last summer was changed to a no-contest when Jones failed a doping test, and he remains out of the sport.

Well, according to an interview with Michael Bisping on UFC on FOX just hours before the fight, Daniel had it all worked out in his head before ever stepping foot in the t-Mobile Arena. I don't know how far they are in the process, but he's going to pop up on the board [on the USADA website] on Monday or Tuesday.
