Campaign Brings President Trump To Great Falls

WATCH LIVE: Trump holds campaign rally in Montana

Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., a possible 2020 presidential challenger, of Native American heritage and referring to her again as "Pocahontas". Elizabeth Warren of MA as "Pocahontas" to ridicule her claims of Native American ancestry. Trump said he would give Warren a DNA test kit in the middle of a debate and offer $1 million for her favorite charity, "paid for by Trump, if you take the test and it shows you're an Indian".

The trip, one of many the President has taken to stump for Republicans across the country this year, will position him squarely against Democratic Sen.

Calls to abolish the agency sprang up after Trump's administration began separating migrant children and adults entering at the U.S. -Mexico border.

Tester, who has been in office since 2007, has been complimentary of Trump on a number of issues in a state Trump handily won in 2016.

"A vote for the Democrats in November is a vote to let (the Latino gang) MS-13 run wild in our communities, to let drugs pour into our cities, and to take jobs and benefits away from our hard-working Americans", he said. He welcomed Tester's Republican opponent, state Auditor Matt Rosendale, to the stage Thursday, calling him a "very special person". "I'll see what Trump has to say and how he delivers his magic words". He adds that journalists questioning his readiness "don't say that".

His barbs against the media came on a day when newsrooms across the US held a moment of silence in remembrance of five Maryland newspaper staffers who were fatally shot last week by a man who authorities say held a grudge against the publication.

"Jon Tester may say one thing in Montana, he does the exact opposite when he goes to Washington", Trump said at a rally in Great Falls, cranking up his cultural, ideological and personal attack machine.

While several members of Congress, including Republicans, expressed reservations about Jackson's nomination, Trump lashed out at Tester, who publicly discussed some of the allegations against the White House doctor. Jackson, a Navy rear admiral, withdrew his name from consideration in April after some colleagues complained to members of Congress about his behavior. Trump is set to tout Rosendale as the best candidate to carry on his brand of conservatism, while Tester has been trying for months to advertise his own work with a President popular in the state.

Rosendale, who is seeking to deny Tester a third term and give Montana an all-Republican congressional delegation, said Trump has focused on the race because of Tester's "liberal obstruction".

Montana is the latest stop on Trump's midterm campaign tour, created to boost Republicans as well as tout his first 18 months in office. He blames Tester for derailing the nomination of White House physician Ronny Jackson as Veterans Affairs secretary. Jon Tester, Democrats in general, the media, Hillary Clinton, the National Football League, our North Atlantic Treaty Organisation allies and foreign trading partners. He went public with multiple allegations of misconduct against Jackson.

Warren responded on Twitter, advising Trump: "While you obsess over my genes, your Admin is conducting DNA tests on little kids because you ripped them from their mamas & you are too incompetent to reunite them in time to meet a court order".

U.S. Sen. Jon Tester is giving President Donald Trump a tongue-in-cheek welcome to Montana by taking out a full-page ad in 14 newspapers thanking the president for signing 16 bills that the Democrat sponsored or co-sponsored.

While rallies allow Trump to get out of Washington and do what he loves most - improvise before a crowd and bask in the adulation of the campaign trail - it's unclear how much these high summer events matter, apart from as a warm-up for the fall campaign. While Tester opposed Trump's first Supreme Court nominee, Neil Gorsuch, and the Republican tax bill, he has also taken flak from the left for a bill easing the rules on banks.
