Demi Lovato hospitalized after suffering heroin overdose

Emergency officials confirmed they transported a 25-year-old woman who lives on Demi Lovato's block to the hospital after receiving a call at 11:22 a.m. Tuesday.

The shock incident comes just one month after she released the personal ballad 'Sober, ' in which she sings about falling off the wagon. The lyrics detail a relapse for the star who had previously marked six years of sobriety from drug and alcohol issues.

Demi Lovato has released a new single that reveals a heartbreaking setback in her road to recovery from addiction. Part of the song goes: "Momma, I'm so sorry, I'm not sober anymore".

"I would sneak out to get drugs, I would fake my drug tests with other people's pee and I would lie straight to their faces".

Lovato was supposed to appear on the Tuesday night episode of Fox game show "Beat Shazam", which is hosted by Jamie Foxx, but a network spokesperson tells CNN they have chose to air a different new episode in its place "in light of recent reports". Lovato often speaks about how important her fans are to her.

Her rep tells ET Canada in a statement: "Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support".

Demi Lovato opened up about her previous addiction troubles in a 2017 documentary. Live Nation did not immediately respond to CNN's request for comment.

Starting with appearances on Barney and Friends in 2002, Demi Lovato gained notoriety at a young age.

Lovato was unconscious when paramedics arrived and she was revived with Narcan, which is used to counter the effects of opioids. Her 2015 album, "Confident", earned her a Grammy nomination for best pop vocal album. She appeared in the short series As the Bell Rings and show Sonny With a Chance, in addition the hit 2008 Disney Channel Original Movie Camp Rock, co-starring the Jonas Brothers. She and her team severed ties, and they played a large part in getting her sober years ago.

Wendy Williams tweeted: "So sorry to hear about Demi Lovato being hospitalized".

Singer Lily Allen tweeted, "Poor lovely spirit @ddlovato I hope she's ok, and that she makes a full recovery soon".
