Demi Lovato hospitalized for apparent heroin overdose

Police found Demi Lovato unconscious at her California home and she was rushed to the hospital

Emergency officials confirm they transported a 25-year-old woman who lives on Demi Lovato's block to the hospital amid reports that the pop star suffered a drug overdose.

TMZ reported that paramedics found the singer unconscious and treated her with Narcan, which is typically used for drug overdoses. She is now being treated and is in stable condition.

However, in late June, Demi did reveal to the world that she had broken her 6-year sobriety, in the form of a song titled "Sober".

She apologises to her parents before singing in the chorus, "To the ones who never left me / We've been down this road before / I'm so sorry / I'm not sober anymore".

The singer has spoken candidly in interviews about her use of cocaine and addiction to alcohol, as well as mental health issues and an eating disorder. To that, she responded, "I don't have to defend anything but it was Red Bull".

"Lately she has had dark circles under her eyes and she's been wiped out..." Lovato often speaks about how important her fans are to her.

Sources say she was at her Hollywood Hills home and has been rushed to an L.A. hospital. She tweeted at Lovato, "I love you".

She joined Iggy Azalea on Sunday at California's Mid-State Fair, where the pair performed.

Lovato's show in Atlantic City, N.J., set to take place on Thursday at Atlantic City Beach, was scrapped following her hospitalization. 'After treatment, I had to have some time sober before I wasn't embarrassed to talk to him. Sources also said the singer had been struggling as of late. It breaks my heart that she is going through this.
