Actor George Clooney was taken to the hospital in Sardinia and released after being involved in an accident while riding his motorcycle, hospital officials said.

Surveillance video of the crash, apparently taken by a fixed security video, was obtained by the newspaper Corriere della Sera. The video shows what is reported as Clooney's scooter crashing into the auto while another scooter alongside him manages to veer around it.

The actor went to the hospital after complaining of a slight pain in his pelvis and bruises to the leg, La Nuova reported, but was released after tests showed he was fine.
Clooney reportedly was in Sardinia filming a television miniseries adapted from Joseph Heller's World War II novel "Catch-22".
According to Carabinieri officer Alberto Cicognani, the driver of the Mercedes hit Clooney after failing to stop at a turn.
Clooney, 57, had just left his hotel on a motor scooter when he crashed into a small truck, Italy's Chi magazine said on its Web site.
Clooney's wife, human rights attorney Amal Clooney, rushed to his side after the incident.
