Manchester United to hijack Juventus's move for Cristiano Ronaldo?

Real Madrid linked to $116M offer from Juventus for Cristiano Ronaldo

Ronaldo wants out of Real Madrid, nine years after signing from Manchester United in a then world-record £80million transfer deal.

Juventus did not reply to a request for comment on Tuesday night.

Reports in the Spanish press emerged this week suggesting that the Portugal global is on his way to Juve in a £106m deal. Portuguese newspaper "A Bola" also led with a report that talks are underway.

Real Madrid's genius for putting themselves centre stage of a tournament which has nothing to do with them continues unabated. According to Tuttosport and AS, Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes is laying the groundwork for a shock transfer that will see the player ditch Madrid for Turin.

A source close to Ronaldo told ESPN in June that he remained determined to leave Real Madrid this summer, though he would only consider a move to England, France or Italy.

The claim comes from French journalist Baptiste Ripart - the man responsible for breaking news of Antoine Griezmann's contract renewal at Atlético Madrid and their signing of Thomas Lemar. Last month, he reportedly agreed to pay €18.8 million to settle his tax case.

Meanwhile for Ronaldo, the Champions League was added to the Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup and Spanish Super Cup but Real faltered in domestic competitions.

Mbappe became the second-most expensive player in history when he joined Paris Saint-Germain on a permanent deal from Monaco for £128m earlier this year.
