LeBron James won't be picking any players during Thursday's National Basketball Association draft.
"We want to respect (LeBron's) space during the process...and I continue to have a really good dialogue with his management team as he goes through that process", said Altman.
"Obviously, I'd love to play with LeBron the rest of my career, but that will be a choice that he makes", Love said. He's done that before, so this is nothing new for us.
All the arrows point to him bolting, but I know for a fact LeBron is trying to figure out if other stars around the league wanna come play with him, but come play with him in Cleveland, first. What is clear is that he likely wont be staying in Cleveland if the Cavs are not able to add some substantial talent to their roster. They could orchestrate a trade involving the NCAA product along with Kevin Love in hopes of landing another All-Star worthy of suiting up on the same court as number 23. "You've got to say, 'How does this pick make us better?'" "You're going to feel this kid". "If you could somehow land a player like him in a trade prior to the draft ... shortly after the draft, I certainly think that would impact LeBron's thinking". However, James himself is not certain whether he will return to Cleveland, according to the report, and therefore can not share his intentions with the franchise. Does that give the Cavs a better chance at re-signing LeBron in the coming weeks?
James has remained off social media since the playoffs began in April, and his self-imposed blackout has continued since the Finals ended.
Although he had his most efficient season as a Cavalier during his 59 regular season games, the 29-year-old struggled throughout much of the postseason, at least for his standards. He wore a crimson-and-black tuxedo jacket that perfectly complemented the wine-colored Cavs cap he was given before taking the stage to shake hands with Commissioner Adam Silver.
"It just shows that all my hard work paid off", Sexton said during an interview with ESPN following the selection.
Namely, don't go team-hopping in search of more championships.
